"Anticipation" by Clara Fabrizio is part of the new exhibit.

The Erinsborough Institute of Art will be showcasing a new exhibit Friday, May 30.  "The Age of Now"It consist of photographs by local artist Clara Fabrizio.

"I am very excited about this show.  Most of the pieces are tied together in that they somehow evoke memories of innocence and childhood."  Fabrizio also reports a coming-of-age theme in the work.  "It moves from early memories to more mature moments."

The exhibit will open Friday at 6:00 p.m.  A reception with the artist will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 Friday.  Admission is $5.

The Erinsborough Civic Theatre will present the satire "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" in the coming month.  The show will open this Friday night at 8:00 p.m.

The play, written by Tom Stoppard, is a comedic venture into the lives of two minor characters in Shakespeare's tragedy "Hamlet".  The Erinsborough production will star John Kale and Larry Guldman as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, respectively.

"The play explores the concept of creating two essentially empty characters,"  Kale comments.  "In Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have no personality and are there just to move the plot along."

The director, Kurt Henderson, is entusiastic about his production.

"I hope that Erinsborough will appreciate seeing this play as much as we have learned to appreciate it in rehearshal."  He say that the play is not slapstick comedy, but more subtle humor that requires a bit of thinking from the audience.  "It is entertaining regardless of whether or not one is familiar with Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'."
